2025 Performer Application
Wodonga Carols is excited to open soloist and choir applications for 2025.

Being a Soloist
There are only a set number of positions for soloists each year at Wodonga Carols by Candlelight and our creative team searches each year for the best performers for these spots. While we often welcome back many returning performers, each year is a new start and we encourage new performers to apply.
Soloists are required to attend a number of Tuesday night rehearsals with Wodonga Brass and a 15 minute individual practice with the Musical Director.
You will be provided with sheet music and rehearsal tracks to practice in your own time.
All soloists are required for the dress rehearsal, tech run and show night (dates below).
Singing in the Choir
As seen over the last three years, the new carols choir focuses on a smaller group with 4 part arrangements and a more vital role in the overall sound.
We are looking for all voice ranges, including sopranos, altos, tenors and basses.
Choir rehearsals will be on a range of days including Tuesdays, Thursdays and weekends. While we understand that you may not be able to make every rehearsal, we ask that you attend at least 75%. The rehearsal schedule will be made available directly after auditions.
All choir members are required for the dress rehearsal, tech run and show night.
Video Auditions
- Consider this as a first round audition
- You do not have to sing a Christmas carol however something in a similar performance style can be helpful
- Performers will be shortlisted from these submissions for in-person auditions.
- You may record a specific audition or use a recent performance video recording.
How to Attach
You have two option to submit your video:
1. Attach the video file directly to the form (file size limits apply)
2. Supply a link to your video
We suggest if providing a link, upload the video to youtube (you can set as private if you wish) and then copy the direct link to the video and submit via the form).
In-Person Auditions
- Will be held on Sunday 19th October in Wodonga.
- Times will be organised at least one week in advance
- Choir auditions may be group or individual auditions and music will be sent in advance
- Soloist auditions will be individual and music is own choice
